So obviously I've not been on much these days.  However, Rich Douek, the writer of the comic project I've been working on, has put together this amazing video promo for our project, so now I can kind of break the silence... a bit.  You can check out the link to the video here:  youtu.be/LMe3fuenyJQ

I'm really excited about this project (and considering I put a book of my own I had been doing on hold, it should tell you just how excited I am about this book), and think it's really fresh, and very well-written.  And the colors, by the awesomely talented award-nominated Donna Gregory :icondonna-gregory: are really simply amazing.  But don't take my word for it, check the link!  :)

We're currently looking for a publisher, so if you've got any thoughts or suggestions, or just want to let me know what you think of the promo, I'm always interested.  And feel free to spread the link around, re-tweet, re-post, whatever gets the word out :)

Thanks!

Looks great Brett. Are you going to any shows this summer to shop it around?

Aaargh! Thanks for remind me. I honestly hadn't even considered that. But I did make that vow that I wouldn't got to another show until I had a book to promote, and I now have a book to promote... Any suggestions? I've been out of the convention thing long enough to not have a clue what shows would be decent to get the pages in front of editors...and people actually interested in picking the book up.

Thanks very much for the reminder!

Looks great, Brett. I suggest you guys read Dave Sim's "Guide to Self-Publishing" that came out in 1997. I know the comic landscape has changed alot since then but he's got some great insight on the ins and outs of how to make it...without a publisher. Good stuff. Im going to apply alot of what I read to the project Im working on.

Good luck. Nice to see you're keeping busy.

Thanks a lot, James. I think the current plan is to find a publisher, but I'll try to track down that book. Thanks for the suggestion. What project are you working on now?

Take care,

The title is Alpha Red. Captain America-ish. We'll see how it all plays out.

Is he a Soviet version of Captain America? Just curious based on the name.

Good luck in any case!

As always, thanks Gabe! I truly appreciate it. I'd never really read anything in the Steampunk genre myself (aside from, I guess Steampunk, but I don't think I ever finished that series). You're more of a superhero kind of guy?

Thanks again!
